Under His Control

I am still here. I haven’t written anything in awhile, right? I’ve thought about it every single day! I have SO much stuff going on right now, and I can’t wrap my head around what I want to write…once I get a chance to sit down and write something. It’s very frustrating!!!

Nonetheless, I still want to let you know that something is coming. I don’t yet know what it is, but I’m sure praying over it!!! 🙂

Day 10 – First Celebrity Crush

All About Pirates

My all-time favorite movie is…The Pirate Movie!!! It’s a 1982 musical spoof of the Pirates of Penzance. It’s completely corny but I love every minute of it to this day. The leading actor is Christopher Atkins and I guess he was probably my first celebrity crush. If not him, then Harrison Ford for sure.

So tonight my daughters and I did our first Trunk or Treat at the church across the street from our church. It also happens to be where I am working now…at their preschool. I told all of the kids that we would be the pumpkin pirates – to keep it fun and not so scary. Twenty-bucks-at-Dollar-Tree later and we have my post covering the Photo Challenge: Transmogrify.

Enjoy!!! We definitely did!!!

Day 9 – Finally Getting Back to This

Wow – did I get way behind or what? My apologies for that. Life has not necessarily been normal around here and with my oldest son’s wedding coming up, things have been rearranged a bit. We have family coming into town and at one of my sister-in-laws is staying with us. I hope she doesn’t mind sharing our one bathroom with all of us. Anyhow, let’s get back to work on my 31-Day Blogging Challenge. I will try to keep this going on a more regular schedule…I promise!

Day 9 – Piercings and Tattoos?

Yes! The piercings are the basic holes in the ear lobes: two on the left ear and one on the right. I actually have three on the left but the third one is at the top of my ear and isn’t used at all. I use to wear an earring up there but there was an issue with another piercing that messed that up. I went to a friend’s jewelry shop to get another piercing and he accidentally pierced through the back of the first hole. Over the years it closed up and now when I try to put something in it, it hurts like crazy and my ear turns really red.

I have a handful of tattoos. On my left foot, I have a lizard and on my right foot I have a happy person symbol from the humanitarianism religion. The lizard was my first tattoo and it barely looks like a lizard. The most popular guess is that it is a dead cow. Really? Why would someone get a dad cow tattoo? The happy person is just about who I’ve been as a person for most of my life. My mom wrote in my baby book that I was always a happy baby, even when I was sick. It’s still true…I’m usually the optimistic one in the group.

On my left calf I have a tat of a hungry child. It was one of the graphics used in the 2007 30 Hour Famine and I thought it was just awesome so I got it where I could see it all the time. It’s a reminder of all that I have and to always remember to pray for all the kiddos out there that aren’t getting enough to eat.

On my back, I have a Coexist tattoo. A lot of people don’t like the coexistence movement, but I do. The “C” is the crescent moon of Islam, the “X” is the Star of David from Judaism, and the “T” is the cross of Christianity. I understand that many people feel like coexistence will never happen, but I’m still holding out hope that we can make it happen. We are all God’s children after all.

Finally, my last tattoo is on my ring finger and it is my husband’s name. He has my name on his. We got these on our 11th wedding anniversary…almost 8 years ago. In my opinion, it is way better than worrying about a wedding ring. 🙂

Well, that’s it for today. Like I said above, I will try to keep this going even with the wedding and incoming family and all. Wish me luck…lol.
